About Scoil Íosagáin

Scoil Íosagáin was established in 1991 after the amalgamation of the Sacred Heart Girls’ school and Saint Columba’s Boys’ school. We have retained two separate buildings within the school. This will change when our new school is built when we all will be under the same roof!

Saint Columba’s complex accommodates Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class, Sixth class as well as the School Library, Music Therapy Room, Early Intervention class for children with Autism, three junior ASD classes, Reception and the main administration area.

The Sacred Heart Complex accommodates classes from Second to Fifth, senior ASD classes, our class for pupils with Multiple Disabilities and a class for pupils with Severe/profound General Learning Disabilities, special education facilities and the PE Hall.

Both complexes have playing areas with hard-core surfaces. The School Garden (a walled area adjacent to Saint Columba’s complex) is a great resource. It has a range of different habitats, a pond and a fairy garden.

As a result of very generous donations by the people of Inishowen we were in a position to create a great play area in our School Garden in 2021, comprising of swings, slide, climbing wall, boat and kitchen.
