We were delighted to host our very first inter-schools Fícheall Chess Tournament recently, facilitated by Ruairí and organised by Miss Tedstone. Our pupils in 4th and 5th classes are thoroughly enjoying learning to play chess and many of them have become very skilled. We’re delighted also with the social skills aspect of playing chess whereby the children have to learn to focus, to wait their turn, to respect their opponent and to play fairly.
