Scoil Íosagáin is a welcoming, nurturing school providing an inclusive learning environment for all its pupils. 44 teachers and 26 special needs assistants are employed. We cater for all aspects of the child’s development by providing a good all-round education, which will meet the child’s intellectual, spiritual, physical, social, emotional and cultural needs.
There are 9 teachers to support pupils in literacy, language and mathematics, including support for pupils of exceptional ability.There are 25 mainstream classes from Junior Infants to Sixth Class, 6 special classes for pupils with Autism (including a pre-school class), and 2 classes for pupils with general learning disability.
Scoil Íosagáin is situated on St. Mary’s Road, behind St. Mary’s Oratory, in the centre of Buncrana. The school can also be accessed from St. Patrick’s Road and there is pedestrian access from St. Oran’s Road. At present the school is on a split campus. St. Columba’s Complex (Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First Class and Junior ASD classes) and the Sacred Heart Complex ( Second-Sixth Classes, Senior ASD classes and classes for pupils with Moderate, Severe and Profound General Learning Disability) .
